Manitoba Council for Exceptional Children (MCEC) Yes I Can! Awards Art Donation Request

January 13, 2019

Manitoba Council for Exceptional Children (MCEC) is hosting the annual Yes I Can! Awards at 7 pm on Thursday Feb, 28, 2019 at the Victoria Inn in Winnipeg.

Once again, this year, MCEC plans to hold an Art Raffle at the MCEC Conference and Yes I Can! Awards events in order to raise funds in support of the Yes I Can! Awards Program, and specifically to help off-set travel costs for any Manitoba student who is selected to receive a Yes I Can! Award at the International CEC Convention.

You may have your donation delivered to Barb’s office at 204-1181 Portage. If you are only able to bring the artwork directly to the MCEC Conference, we will be setting up the display early in the morning on February 28, so please let Barb know in advance, so we can better plan the display space.

It is appreciated if the artwork is ready to display and is accompanied by the MCEC Art Raffle Template completed with the artist's name, school, school division, medium and information about the artist...and signed to give permission to use student’s name in display. In the past, artwork has included: quilts, jewelry, wall hangings (watercolour, oil, photography, etc), sculpture, seasonal art, etc. It’s great when the display is varied and offers ‘something for everyone’.

Artwork by our talented students, staff or other adults are all gratefully accepted. If every school division was able to donate 1-2 items, it would certainly make a wonderful display! Of course, we are certainly happy to accept more than that. Tax receipts may be available to adult donors. Please contact Barb for further information.
